Borussia Dortmund are set to host Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday in a pivotal Bundesliga matchday 33 clash—the final home game of the season for the Black and Yellows. With Champions League qualification already secured, Dortmund sit second in the table with 67 points, but recent form has been concerning: three defeats in their last four matches, including a frustrating 1-0 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach where their attack struggled to find rhythm. A victory here would clinch the runners-up spot with one game remaining, making this a must-win for momentum.

Injuries have tested Dortmund’s depth. Captain Emre Can remains sidelined with a long-term ACL injury, while left-back Ramy Bensebaini is also out for the season with a serious ankle problem. Attacking threat Karim Adeyemi is unavailable, and defender Niklas Sule—who announced his retirement at age 30 after this season—is doubtful and will be assessed before kickoff. Midfielder Felix Nmecha is also a question mark as he works back to full fitness.

After a mixed performance in their last outing, manager Edin Terzić is expected to shake things up. Julian Brandt and Samuele Inacio started previously, but Maximilian Beier is pushing hard for a starting spot to inject energy into the frontline. The predicted lineup features Kobel in goal; a back four of Reggiani, Anton, and Schlotterbeck; a midfield quartet of Ryerson, Sabitzer, Bellingham, and Svensson; and an attacking duo of Brandt and Beier supporting striker Guirassy.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM BST on Friday, 8th May. UK fans can catch the action live and free on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website, and the BBC Sport app, with coverage also available on the official Bundesliga app. It’s a night Dortmund fans won’t want to miss as they bid farewell to their home ground for the season.
