Borussia Dortmund have officially secured the signing of highly-rated teenage defender Joane Gadou from RB Salzburg, adding another promising talent to their growing roster of young stars.

The Bundesliga giants confirmed the arrival of the 19-year-old centre-back on Tuesday afternoon. Gadou is set to join the Black and Yellows this summer after signing a long-term contract that runs until 2031—a clear signal of the club's confidence in his potential.

BVB sporting managing director Lars Ricken couldn't hide his enthusiasm about the acquisition. "We have known Joane for a very long time and have been monitoring him since his time at Paris Saint-Germain," Ricken explained. "Joane will strengthen our squad and play an important role for us right from the start of the new season. We are convinced of his qualities and see enormous potential for his sporting development."

Gadou, who has represented France at youth level on 30 occasions, brings international pedigree and raw talent to Dortmund's backline. The teenager was equally thrilled about his next chapter in football.

"I'm absolutely delighted to be joining the BVB family and can't wait to pull on the Black & Yellow shirt for the first time," Gadou said. "I want to achieve success in the coming years together with my teammates, the whole club and our incredible fans."

With this signing, Dortmund continues its tradition of developing elite young defenders—a pathway that has produced stars like Mats Hummels and Manuel Akanji in recent years. For fans looking to gear up for the new season, expect to see Gadou's name on the back of many black and yellow jerseys soon.
