In a major boost for Manchester United, Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has confirmed that the Serie A club will make Rasmus Hojlund's move permanent this summer, according to the Mirror.

The Danish striker joined Napoli on loan last summer after a challenging spell at Old Trafford, where he struggled to live up to his hefty £72 million price tag. Now, Hojlund has rediscovered his form in Italy, netting 14 goals and providing six assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. His resurgence has been a key factor in Napoli's impressive season, as they currently sit second in the Serie A table and recently clinched the Italian Super Cup with a win over Bologna.

Napoli will trigger the £38 million buy-out clause in Hojlund's contract, a significant discount from the fee United paid Atalanta in 2023. The 22-year-old has already agreed to a new, improved long-term deal with the Italian club, signaling his commitment to the project in Naples.

Hojlund's journey to this point has been a rollercoaster. He began his career at HUI and Brondby before moving to Copenhagen in 2020. His performances in Denmark earned him a transfer to Sturm Graz, followed by a £14.6 million move to Atalanta, where he caught United's eye. However, in the Premier League, he managed just 26 goals in 95 appearances, prompting the Red Devils to cut their losses.

United have since moved on, bringing in Benjamin Sesko, who has hit the ground running at Old Trafford this season. For Hojlund, the move to Napoli has been a career revival, and with the club now confirming his permanent signing, both parties can look forward to a bright future together.
