The Green Bay Packers were in their boldest form during the offseason in 2025, drafting a wide receiver in the first round for the first time in two decades and pulling off a blockbuster trade for All-Pro Micah Parsons before the start of the regular season.

Now, after three straight empty playoff trips, could the Packers be bold once again during the most important roster building event of 2026? Brian Gutekunst's roster has holes, but without a first-round pick, the Packers are lacking in draft capital and must be clever in their approach. As always, fortune favors the bold.

Our bold predictions for the Packers in the 2026 NFL draft:

It won't be shocking at all if the Packers manage to double dip at cornerback, a position where Brian Gutekunst admitted the roster needs numbers and where the short-term and long-term needs are glaringly obvious. In fact, the Packers exiting this draft with fewer than two picks at corner would be somewhat shocking on its own. But could the Packers actually use three picks at corner? I can imagine a scenario where the Packers trade down at some point on Day 2, acquire an additional pick (or two) and then use three of the picks to completely reshape and restock the cornerback position. There are a TON of Packers types at corner in this draft class, and the Packers desperately need the numbers for 2026 and the stability in 2027 and beyond. Remember the 2022 draft? The Packers were long overdue for an investment at wide receiver, so Brian Gutekunst boldly picked Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure. That worked OK, and now a similar situation could play out at corner four years later. The bold prediction for 2026: The Packers get one corner on Day 2, another corner in the middle rounds/early on Day 3, and a final one with one of their seventh-round picks.

Last year, I was right in predicting that the Packers would wait until Day 3 to draft a cornerback. This year, I think there’s a good chance they do the same. Green Bay used top 30 visits on cornerbacks Charles Demmings, Will Lee III, Karon Prunty, and Malcolm DeWalt IV, who are all projected to be late-round selections or undrafted free agents. So far this offseason, the Packers cut their losses by releasing Nate Hobbs, then signed an experienced veteran in Benjamin St-Juste. Green Bay still needs to add to its cornerback room, but it may be smart to wait until Day 3, where this class still offers good value.

Green Bay spent their first three picks of last year’s draft on offense and need to flip the script in 2026. They will likely draft an offensive lineman or two, but I could see a world where they bypass the skill positions entirely. Many expect a pick at receiver after the Dontayvion Wicks trade, but most of their types are expected to go on day two, and drafting one there may put them in a situation where they have too many mouths to feed again. The quarterback and running back classes are weak, and despite a deep tight end class, the Packers were not reported to bring a single one in for a 30 visit. There is a chance they wait until undrafted free agency to do most of their work on the positions that touch the ball.
