Bo Nix Has Been Discredited Too Much By NFL Analysts

Let's be real—Bo Nix just can't catch a break. No matter what he does on the field, NFL analysts and fans seem determined to keep him out of the spotlight. They nitpick his missed throws and point to his age, while handing all the credit to the Denver Broncos' defense. But the truth is, Nix has been quietly building a case that's impossible to ignore.

Last season, Nix led the Broncos to a stellar 14-3 record and a playoff victory over the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round. He was playing at an elite level until a broken ankle in that game forced him to the sideline. With backup Jarrett Stidham under center, Denver fell 10-7 to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship. It's a painful "what if"—how far could this team have gone with a healthy Nix?

That kind of success alone should earn him a spot in the top 15—or even top 10—quarterback conversations. After all, he finished in the top 10 in both passing yards and passing touchdowns last year. But apparently, that's still not enough for the critics.

Take a look at the rankings. NFL.com's Nick Shook placed Nix at No. 18, below Aaron Rodgers, Brock Purdy, and Daniel Jones. Meanwhile, The Ringer's Steven Ruiz ranked him at No. 21, behind Kyler Murray (who was cut) and Jayden Daniels (who played just seven games). Ruiz points to niche stats like "yards per dropback" and calls Nix's improvements "marginal." Shook, on the other hand, criticizes his lack of "true sense of consistency until after Thanksgiving."

Sure, Nix has had his share of poor decisions and inaccurate throws. But when you combine his raw arm talent, proven production, and team success—including a dark-horse MVP bid late last season—the narrative feels unfair. As his third year approaches and the Broncos gear up for another run, it's time to stop overlooking this quarterback. Nix is poised to force his way into conversations that no one saw coming.
