The Toronto Blue Jays are keeping their options open as they navigate a potential outfield injury replacement, with Addison Barger's elbow issue adding a layer of uncertainty to their roster plans.

After a thrilling offensive explosion on Saturday—where the Blue Jays scored 14 runs against the Los Angeles Angels—the team welcomed back a familiar face. Addison Barger, who had been sidelined for over a month with an ankle injury, made his long-awaited return to the lineup. In just three at-bats, he drew two walks, scored a run, and wowed fans with a jaw-dropping defensive throw from the outfield that quickly became the talk of the game.

"Activated Saturday after more than a month on the injured list with an ankle injury, Barger re-introduced himself to Jays fans with one of the most incredible, highlight-reel throws from the outfield this season," wrote Frank Zicarelli of the Toronto Sun. "Somewhat of a surprise, in the wake of the Barger activation was the corresponding move that saw Yohendrick Pinango optioned to Triple-A Buffalo."

Barger was a key contributor in last year's World Series run, posting an impressive .480/.536/.680 slash line with a home run and 12 hits in 25 at-bats. However, his offensive production has dipped this season, while Pinango—who was sent down to make room for Barger—showed promise during his brief MLB debut, slashing .423/.444/.462.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider praised Pinango's performance and left the door open for his return. "We're just looking at the runway for him and the runway for others and it didn't really match up," Schneider said. "I could see him being part of us again at some point. He definitely showed well."

As the Blue Jays continue to navigate injuries and roster moves, fans will be watching closely to see how Barger's elbow issue unfolds—and whether Pinango gets another shot to shine in the big leagues.
