Okamota continues to impress.

Toronto Blue Jays fans have plenty of reasons to keep an eye on Kazuma Okamoto, and the numbers are starting to back up the hype.

The Japanese slugger, who joined the Blue Jays this season, has already etched his name into the franchise record books. According to MLB insider Francys Romero, Okamoto became just the second player in Blue Jays history to hit 10 home runs in his first 35 career games. The only other player to accomplish that feat? Star shortstop Bo Bichette, who did it back in 2019.

Okamoto's hot streak has been particularly impressive over the past 10 games, where he's crushed four home runs. For the season, the infielder is batting .248 with 10 homers and 46 strikeouts. While there have been moments where he's looked like he's still adjusting to Major League pitching, the power numbers suggest he's finding his groove.

If Okamoto can follow a similar trajectory to Bichette, the Blue Jays could have a formidable offensive weapon on their hands. Bichette, despite his defensive limitations, has been one of the most consistent hitters in the league since his debut. Okamoto may not be there yet, but this early home run pace is a promising sign that the talent is real.

For a team that's been searching for consistency at the plate, Okamoto's historic start is exactly the kind of spark that could make a difference down the stretch. Whether he can maintain this level of production remains to be seen, but for now, Blue Jays fans have every reason to be excited about what's to come.
