The Riverland Community College Blue Devils baseball team battled to a split in a tightly contested doubleheader against Ridgewater at Seltz Field on Wednesday. The Blue Devils showcased their offensive firepower to secure an 8-5 victory in the opener before narrowly falling 7-5 in the nightcap.

Game one belonged to the Blue Devils' bats, led by a powerful performance from Rolan Figueroa. His home run and four RBIs provided the crucial spark, while Austin Swenson, a Southland graduate, drove in three more runs to help build the winning margin. The pitching staff, featuring Blake Hershberger, winner Justin Joriman, and reliever Riley Jax, effectively managed the Ridgewater lineup to seal the 8-5 win.

Looking to sweep the series, the Blue Devils fought hard in game two but ultimately came up just short in a 7-5 loss. Despite the result, the offense continued to produce, with key contributions coming from Carson Gehrke and Ben Helfer, who each smacked a double and drove in two runs. The team's competitive spirit was on full display throughout the twin bill, reflecting their strong 23-10 overall record this season.
