Florida State's 2027 recruiting class is already shaping up on the defensive side, but the Seminoles are still searching for their first wide receiver commit. Enter Elias Pearl—a four-star prospect who just made a big move in his recruitment.
The Port Charlotte standout announced his top six schools, and Florida State made the cut. Pearl's list also includes Georgia, LSU, Florida, Ole Miss, and North Carolina—a who's who of college football heavyweights.
FSU was a bit late to the party, only offering Pearl a scholarship in February. But they made up for lost time by getting him on campus for an unofficial visit in early April. The Seminoles will need to work fast, though—Pearl already has official visits scheduled this summer with Florida, Virginia Tech, Georgia, and Ole Miss.
Pearl's junior season was nothing short of spectacular. He hauled in 69 receptions for 1,052 yards and 13 touchdowns, while also rushing for 253 yards and 11 scores on 40 carries. Oh, and he returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, too. That kind of versatility is exactly what FSU's offense could use.
Ranked as the No. 95 overall prospect and the No. 17 wide receiver nationally by Rivals, Pearl is also the 11th-best recruit in talent-rich Florida. At 5'11" and 188 pounds, he's got the frame and playmaking ability to make an immediate impact at the college level.
For FSU fans, landing Pearl would be a huge win—especially with so many top programs vying for his commitment. It's a recruiting battle worth watching closely this summer.
