Legendary Bixby Spartans head coach Loren Montgomery has added another prestigious honor to his already glittering resume—official induction into his college alma mater's Hall of Fame.

Montgomery, who led the Spartans to their eighth straight Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OHSAA) Class 6A-I state championship in 2025, was celebrated Monday afternoon by Bixby for his induction into the Northeastern State University RiverHawks Hall of Fame. NSU head coach Darrin Chiaverini led the congratulations, posting: "Congrats to @NSU_Football Alum and multiple State Championship winning Head Coach @BixbySpartanFB Loren Montgomery on his induction into @RiverHawkSports Hall of Fame! Congrats Coach!!"

The honor recognizes Montgomery's standout career as a mainstay on Northeastern State's offensive line during the program’s early NCAA Division II years—a golden era when NSU boasted the winningest college football program in Oklahoma during the 1990s. He capped his four-year playing career by helping guide the RiverHawks to the 1999 Division II playoff semifinals, a team that was itself inducted into the NSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021.

After graduating from Northeastern State in 2000, Montgomery spent ten seasons coaching at Jenks High School under legendary mentor and 2017 NSU Distinguished Alumnus, before taking the helm at Bixby. The results have been nothing short of historic.

The Spartans' undefeated 2025 campaign was a masterclass in offensive firepower. Graduating senior quarterback Carson Kirby completed 191 of 273 passes for 2,939 yards and 39 touchdowns, while the team scored a staggering 785 points—averaging 60.3 points per game over 13 contests. That dominant run secured Bixby's 11th state title and set the stage for a pursuit of No. 12 in the upcoming fall season.

For Montgomery, this Hall of Fame induction is a fitting tribute to a career built on excellence—from anchoring the offensive line in college to building a dynasty on the sidelines. As the Spartans gear up for another title run, one thing is clear: the winning tradition runs deep in Bixby, and it starts at the top.
