The Buffalo Bills made a bunch of undrafted free agent signings already.

One of them has ties to a long-tenured NFL quarterback.

The new signing is Max Tomczak, a wide receiver out of Youngstown State.

He's the nephew of Mike Tomczak, who played 15 seasons of quarterback in the NFL.

Mike was an undrafted player out of Ohio State who played for the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Maybe the best omen out of a quick look at Mike's career is that he was a Super Bowl champion as a rookie as a member of the 1985 Bears.

He ended up with a 40-31 record as an NFL starter with 88 career touchdown passes despite his status as an undrafted player.

His nephew Max measures 6-feet tall and 195 pounds and was a four-year producer for the Penguins at the FCS level.

His best numbers came in 2025 as he had 70 catches for 7,021 yards and eight touchdowns. The year prior, he had 72 grabs for 890 yards.

The Bills don't have the most impressive WR depth chart, but it is already very crowded with lots of bodies.

For Tomczak to make the team, he's going to harness some of what his uncle used to turn undrafted status into a 15-year NFL career.
