Kansas head coach Bill Self continues to work his offseason magic, adding another key piece to the Jayhawks' rebuilt roster. On Thursday, the program landed a commitment from former Radford guard Dennis Parker Jr., a proven scorer who brings much-needed firepower to Lawrence.

After a disappointing second-round exit in the NCAA Tournament against St. John's, Kansas watched several key contributors depart, leaving Self and his staff in full reconstruction mode. Parker's addition is a major step forward, giving the Jayhawks an experienced, high-volume scorer with one year of eligibility remaining.

Parker's journey to Kansas is anything but conventional. Originally a four-star recruit in the 2023 class, he signed with NC State but saw limited action over two seasons. Seeking a bigger role, he transferred to Radford—and the move paid off in a big way. The 6-foot-6 guard started 32 games this past season, averaging 18.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while shooting 48.4% from the field and 37.7% from three-point range. His breakout campaign earned him second-team All-Big South honors and made him one of the most sought-after players in the transfer portal.

For Kansas, Parker's size on the perimeter, proven scoring ability, and experience playing heavy minutes are exactly what the doctor ordered. His arrival helps offset the loss of multiple rotation players this offseason, giving the Jayhawks a versatile weapon who can create his own shot and stretch the floor.

Even with Parker in the fold, Kansas is still working to solidify its roster for next season. But this commitment signals that Self is far from finished—and that the Jayhawks are reloading, not rebuilding.
