A Nebraska quarterback commit is being pursued by another Big Ten team. The Ohio State Buckeyes recently visited class of 2027 recruit Trae Taylor, according to Allen Trieu of Rivals (subscription required).

The four-star quarterback had a strong 2025 season at Carmel Catholic. In 11 games, Taylor threw 3,571 yards, 38 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also ran 77 times for 633 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Taylor is expected to transfer from Carmel Catholic High School in Illinois to Millard South in Omaha at the conclusion of his junior year. Taylor is expected to take over for former starting quarterback Jett Thomalla, who signed with Alabama.

Trieu also reports that Taylor's family has been in contact with the Nebraska staff and informed them of the Buckeyes visit. Taylor's father also made it clear that Trae will not be visiting any other schools.

Nebraska's class of 2027 currently has eight commitments. The class ranks 15th nationally and 6th in the Big Ten Conference.
