In a powerful display of offensive firepower, the Flathead Braves bounced back from a tough Crosstown loss with a commanding 16-5 victory over Whitefish at Smith Fields on Friday. The win showcased the team's resilience and ability to produce runs in bunches.
The turning point came in the fourth inning, when Dillon Wink delivered a game-changing 3-run double that sparked a seven-run rally, flipping a 2-1 deficit into an 8-2 lead. Wink finished the day with two hits and four RBIs, leading a balanced Braves attack that never let up.
Leum Saisbury and Hunter Fann each drove in three runs, with Fann going 3-for-4 at the plate and scoring twice. Miles Arrowsmith was perfect on the day, going 4-for-4 for Flathead (7-10). The Braves saved their biggest outburst for the sixth inning, putting up eight runs—highlighted by Eli Coopman's two-RBI single to center—to put the game out of reach.
Whitefish (10-6) showed early promise when Finn Ryan drove in a pair of runs in the third inning to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. Carter Godsey, Finn Ryan, and Reyd Hobart each doubled, but the Bulldogs couldn't contain Flathead's relentless lineup.
On the mound, Liam Rech earned the win with four solid innings, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out three. Tyson Franchini-White closed the door with two innings of one-run relief. The game ended after six innings due to the run rule.
For Whitefish, Logan Stewart started and allowed just one run over three innings before the Braves broke through against the bullpen.
