The 2025-26 athletic season for Bemidji State University has officially come to a close, and what a ride it's been. Sometimes, the best plays happen when you have no time to think. That was exactly the case for Connor Carver on homecoming weekend. With Bemidji State football clinging to a 17-14 lead late in the fourth quarter against Northern State, the wildcat quarterback was rushed into the game at the last second—still wearing his receiver gloves. He didn't hesitate. Carver launched his first and only pass of the day, a 44-yard touchdown to Jake Hill, sealing the win. That victory wasn't just a highlight; it was a turning point. The Beavers had started 0-5, searching for any spark. Carver provided it, and BSU finished the season 4-2, capped off with the traditional jump into Lake Bemidji on an 80-degree day.
For the women's soccer team, the road to redemption ran through Chet Anderson Stadium. After a one-year absence from the national stage, the Beavers roared back in 2025, going 8-0-1 at home during the regular season. But their most impactful win came on the road: a 2-1 victory over St. Cloud State at Husky Stadium. That win helped BSU secure the right to host the Central Region Tournament, a feat head coach Jim Stone couldn't have scripted any tighter. Though the Beavers fell to seventh-seeded Central Missouri State, the season proved they were back to their championship standard.
On the men's golf side, senior Schoepp opened his final season with a round for the ages. At the par-71 Bemidji Town and Country Club, he shot a 64—three strokes better than the previous BSU record. It was also a personal best, besting his previous low of 64 on a par-69 course. His two-day score of 134 was at least six strokes clear of the field, setting the tone for a memorable farewell campaign.
