The 2028 Summer Olympics will be in Los Angeles. The track and field side of the games got an interesting boost recently as USA track legend Allyson Felix revealed she is looking to return. Felix, the most decorated female track and female athlete in Olympic history, will be 42 when the event rolls around.
If Felix qualifies for Team USA in 2028, it would be her sixth Olympic Games. She has won seven golds, three silvers, and a one bronze. Adding to her total would be another remarkable accomplishment in an incredible career.
“So many of us have been told not to do the big, bold thing,” Felix tells TIME in her first interview announcing her comeback. “You know, at this age, I should probably be staying home and taking care of my kids, doing all that. And just, why not? Let's flip it on its head. Let's go after the thing. Let's be vulnerable.”
