Frank Warren says he’s never had a better heavyweight fight than Wardley vs Dubois

Promoter Frank Warren has seen it all in the heavyweight division, but even he admits that Saturday's clash between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley was something special—calling it the best heavyweight fight he's ever promoted. And for once, this isn't just "promoter-speak."

If you witnessed the bout, you know Warren's praise is genuine. Wardley, the WBO champion, came out swinging, dropping Dubois twice in the opening three rounds. But Dubois showed incredible resilience, weathering the storm and delivering a relentless assault of his own. Wardley, battered and bruised, refused to quit, displaying the kind of heart that defines boxing's greats. The fight finally ended in the 11th round when referee Howard Foster stepped in to stop the contest.

"It was amazing. These two guys showed such heart, both of them," Warren said. "Great heart, chins. It was an amazing fight. It was just absorbing, it had everything. Best heavyweight fight I've ever put on."

For Wardley (20-1-1, 19 KO), the loss doesn't mark the end of the road. Warren confirmed that a rematch clause exists in the contract, given Wardley entered as the champion. However, the promoter wasn't ready to lock in a date just yet, acknowledging that both fighters may need time to recover from such a grueling battle.

"There is a rematch clause in the contract. Let the dust settle. There's a lot of things happening in the next couple of months in the heavyweight division, and then we'll see," Warren said. "But (Dubois) is back, and Fabio, he's not going away, either. He'll be back. He's a true, true brave, gutsy man. Unbelievable. I take my hat off to both of them."

For fans of the sport, this was a reminder of why heavyweight boxing remains the most thrilling division—raw power, unbreakable will, and the promise of more fireworks to come. Whether it's a rematch or new challenges ahead, both Dubois and Wardley have earned their place in the conversation.
