Berlin Brothersvalley High School graduate Pace Prosser announced Friday night he will transfer to NCAA Division I member Siena University.
Prosser will make the jump up from NCAA Division II Gannon to Division I Siena, which is located in Loudonville, New York.
Siena went 23-12 in 2025-26 under coach Gerry McNamara, who was hired at Syracuse. The Saints gave No. 1 overall seed Duke a scare before falling 71-65 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Siena finished 13-7 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play before winning the tournament, beating Merrimack in the title game.
Coach Nevada Smith leads Siena. Smith served as an assistant coach at Marquette (2021-26) and Texas (2020-21). The West Leechburg native was a head coach at the professional level in the NBA G League for five seasons, leading Miami Heat affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce (2016-19) and Houston Rockets affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2013-15).
Prosser entered the transfer portal following Gannon’s first NCAA Division II national championship win. Prosser, who led the Golden Knights in scoring during his sophomore season, earned the Division II national championship tournament most outstanding player honor.
As a play-making guard capable of hurting opponents from both long range and driving in the paint, Prosser scored 687 points (18.6 ppg) and collected 199 rebounds (5.4), 168 assists and 83 steals this past season.
Prosser capped the season on Division II basketball’s biggest stage, tallying 28 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, five steals and one blocked shot in an 84-61 victory over Lander University in Indianapolis.
Playing 71 games during his two seasons at Gannon, Prosser collected 1,172 points (16.5), 391 rebounds (5.5), 319 assists (4.5) and 148 steals (2.1).
In 2024-25, Prosser helped Gannon win the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship and was named MVP of the 2024-25 conference tournament.
At Berlin Brothersvalley, Prosser scored more than 2,000 career points and played in three state championship games – the Mountaineers took silver each time.
As a senior in 2023-24, Prosser was named Pennsylvania Sports Writers Class 1A boys player of the year. His father Tanner earned Class 1A boys coach of the year that season, as Berlin Brothersvalley went 28-3 and placed second in the state.
In football, Pace Prosser passed for nearly 5,000 career yards and rushed for almost 1,500 yards on offense and was a standout defensive back with the Mountaineers.
