Thursday night's Berks boys volleyball action delivered high drama, with Reading High securing a heart-stopping five-set victory over Fleetwood. The Red Knights, now 4-5 (1-2 Division 1), were led by a standout performance from Jayvian Rodriguez, who powered the offense with 13 kills while adding 2 blocks and 5 digs.

Reading High looked dominant early, taking the first two sets 25-19 and 25-22. Fleetwood, however, mounted a fierce comeback, winning the next two frames 25-21 and 25-19 to force a decisive fifth set. In the tense finale, the Red Knights held on for a nail-biting 15-13 win to clinch the match.

The victory was a true team effort. Setter Yairon Martinez orchestrated the offense with 38 assists while contributing 3 kills, 3 blocks, 3 aces, and 6 digs. Anthony Gomez added 8 kills, and Jameer Tavarez chipped in 7 kills and 11 digs, showcasing the all-around hustle that defines winning volleyball.

Fleetwood's effort was led by Aiden Grube's 17 kills and Emilio Serio's impressive all-around line of 15 kills, 12 digs, and 6 blocks, proving that even in a loss, individual performances can shine.

In other local action, Schuylkill Valley dominated Antietam in a straight-sets sweep (25-11, 25-22, 25-19). The Panthers' offense was fueled by Mike Pinkerton's 10 kills and 5 aces, while Asher Clery distributed 17 assists to keep the attack flowing.

Exeter also notched a solid win, taking down Daniel Boone in four sets (25-16, 25-23, 21-25, 25-19). The Eagles' attack was firing on all cylinders, thanks to setter Landon Campbell's massive 56-assist night. Paxson Forry was the primary beneficiary, hammering down a match-high 23 kills in the victory.
