Howells struck out five and walked two, while throwing just 75 pitches, 55 for strikes.
For the Blazers (3-6, 2-2 Division 2), Maddox Roy went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs, and Ryan Kriebel, Greyson Bell and Gabe Geisle each doubled and had 2 RBIs.
Domanic Nolt and Zane Cherrie each had two RBIs as Kutztown defeated Wyomissing 10-6 in a BCIAA baseball game on Friday.
Nolt didn’t have a hit in the game, but had a sacrifice fly and Cherrie had a double for his only hit.
Wyomissing (4-4, 3-2 BCIAA Division 3) led 5-4 after three innings, but Kutztown (6-3, 4-1 Division 4), erupted for six runs in the sixth inning.
Three Wyomissing pitchers issued a total of 10 walks.
Heriel Ramirez hit a two-run home run and Henry Pflomm drove in three runs as Berks Catholic scored a 13-1 five-inning win over Schuylkill Valley on Friday.
Pflomm, whose hit was a double, walked the other three times he was at bat. Aiden Curley was 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
Winning pitcher Owen Schalk worked five innings, striking out nine and giving up one hit.
