HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) — Well over a hundred young athletes got to show off their skills at a local youth football combine in Hutchinson on Saturday.
Hutchinson Community College alum and current Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley hosted the camp. The event was also put on by head Hutchinson football coach Drew Dallas and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hutchinson.
“It feels good to come back; it feels nostalgic,” Tinsley said. “I feel, with kids seeing me here, I hopefully can be an inspiration to them to not only play football, but to be whatever they want in life. This is what I’m out to do, and this is my mission in life.”

Children got to participate in various drills and skill competitions and received autographs from Tinsley at the end of the camp.
“I feel very hopeful for our community,” said Alliyah Gray with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hutchinson. “It’s awesome to see these kids have the validation, the reassurance that we all believe they deserve. With something like this, an athlete at any level, regardless of their story, can come out and leave it on the field.”
The event is free for all who attend and is held annually each April.
