The Miami Dolphins have their sights set on a game-changing wide receiver in the upcoming NFL Draft, but a seismic trade between two other franchises may have just complicated their plans.
In a blockbuster move on the eve of the draft, the Cincinnati Bengals traded their No. 10 overall pick to the New York Giants for All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence. While the Dolphins weren't involved, this deal sends ripples directly to their war room at pick No. 11.
The Giants, now armed with both the No. 5 and No. 10 selections, have positioned themselves as a major threat to snatch a player high on Miami's radar: Arizona State's dynamic wideout, Jordyn Tyson. Standing at 6'2" with explosive playmaking ability, Tyson is considered by many to be the top receiver in this class when healthy, having seemingly put past hamstring issues behind him.
The interest is far from casual. Reports indicate Giants GM Joe Schoen personally flew to Arizona for Tyson's workout and even had dinner with the prospect. Notably, Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan was also in attendance, signaling a clear scouting priority for Miami.
This creates a tense draft-day scenario for the Dolphins. If New York targets Tyson with one of their two top-ten picks, Miami's hope of him falling to No. 11 evaporates. For a team with multiple roster needs, trading significant draft capital to jump the Giants might be a costly gamble. A player who could have been a cornerstone for their offense may now be just out of reach, thanks to a trade that didn't even involve them.
