Shortly after Benavidez's victory, Turki Alalshikh told The Ring's Mike Coppinger that he's eager to orchestrate a mega-fight between the unbeaten "Mexican Monster" and Usyk, the current unified heavyweight champion holding WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, IBO, IBF, and The Ring belts. But don't expect Benavidez to rush into the heavyweight division anytime soon. During the post-fight press conference, the 32-0 phenom was quick to pump the brakes on any immediate move up, admitting that heavyweight fighters are simply too big for him right now. "You guys keep asking me about heavyweight, stop that shit," he said with a laugh. "It was hard for me to come up to 200 pounds. At heavyweight, those guys are super big."
