Chelsea are not going to be in the Champions League next season, meaning money to spend in the summer will be limited.
But they will have some cash to spend, and they’re likely to keep on their current pattern of focusing on young players. One whose name has come up today is Samuel Martinez, a young Colombian.
A report from GiveMeSport claims that the 17 year old is a top target for the Blues as well as Liverpool. He’s exactly the sort of gem the Blues have made it their business to target in recent years.
Ben Jacobs says that the attacking midfielder is one of the “most promising Colombian prospects” and has been impressing at the Under 17 Copa Sudamericana.
“He is technically gifted and has quickly established himself as a key figure in Colombia’s attack, showing strong technical quality, tactical intelligence and long-range shooting, while his dribbling has also caught the eye,” Jacobs concludes.
Liam Delap is not having a good time up top for the Blues, with another start on Saturday leading to a blank.
Liam Rosenior is losing his own dressing room, and has lost most of his supporters too. It’s hard to see how he turns this around now.
