The Bemidji High School boys tennis team is off to a blistering start this season, and their perfect record remained intact after a dominant road trip. With unplayable conditions at home, the Lumberjacks took their show on the road to Fergus Falls on Wednesday, sweeping a triangular meet against Mora and the host Otters to improve to an impressive 4-0.

Facing Mora in their first match, Bemidji set the tone with a commanding 5-2 victory. The singles lineup delivered strong performances, with Owen Lappinga and Blake Friese securing straight-set wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, respectively. The real story, however, was the sheer dominance of the doubles teams. The pairings of Chase Fairchild and Peter Mathews, Ethan Frank and Logan Berg, and Paul Gifford and Hudson Moussa were in complete control, surrendering only six total games across all three matches to secure a clean sweep.

Bemidji saved its most complete performance for the host team, blanking Fergus Falls 7-0 in a display of precision tennis. The Lumberjacks were relentless, dropping a mere nine games across the entire seven-match slate. The doubles teams continued to shine, with Fairchild and Mathews, along with Gifford and Moussa, posting flawless 6-0, 6-0 victories that underscored the team's depth and focus.

With momentum firmly on their side, the undefeated Lumberjacks have a busy schedule ahead. Their quest to stay perfect continues with a relocated triangular in Sauk Rapids against Moorhead and Sauk Rapids-Rice on Thursday, followed by a dual meet in Detroit Lakes on Friday afternoon.
