The Chicago Bears are making a savvy move to bolster their wide receiver room, signing former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl champion Scotty Miller, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

This offseason, the Bears made headlines by trading star receiver DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills. While the return was solid, it left a noticeable gap in the passing attack. Chicago now looks to Luther Burden and Rome Odunze as their primary targets, with Kalif Raymond adding depth. But the team clearly felt they needed more—especially a shifty, slot-style playmaker.

Enter Scotty Miller. At 5-foot-9 and 174 pounds, Miller isn't the biggest receiver on the field, but he brings a quickness and experience that could fit perfectly in Ben Johnson's offense. Over his career, Miller has racked up 1,216 receiving yards and six touchdowns. His best season came during Tampa Bay's 2020 Super Bowl run, when he caught 33 passes for 501 yards and three touchdowns—including four catches for 80 yards and a score from Tom Brady in the postseason.

Miller's production dipped last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he caught just nine of 14 targets for 62 yards and no touchdowns. Still, his ability to work underneath and create separation makes him an intriguing option as a third receiver. He also has experience returning kicks and punts, adding versatility to the roster.

For the Bears, this signing is about adding reliable depth and a veteran presence to a young receiving corps. With Burden and Odunze drawing defensive attention, Miller could carve out a meaningful role in the slot. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him become a trusted target on third downs and in key situations this season.
