The Chicago Bears have been busy building their roster, and on Monday they officially announced the signing of wide receiver Scotty Miller—a move that had been anticipated—along with three additional new faces joining the squad.
Headlining the group is linebacker Jon Rhattigan, who brings the most NFL experience to the table. Rhattigan, along with Miller, participated as a veteran tryout player at the Bears' rookie minicamp over the weekend, and clearly impressed the coaching staff enough to earn a contract. Last season, he suited up for the Las Vegas Raiders, where he recorded six tackles primarily on special teams across 12 games. He also saw action in one game for the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a regular contributor in the kicking game for the Carolina Panthers in 2024. Rhattigan spent his first three professional seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, amassing 50 career tackles and establishing himself as a reliable special teams presence.
Joining Rhattigan are two undrafted rookies who went unclaimed in last month's NFL draft: wide receiver Kyron Hudson and linebacker Wayne Matthews. Both players will look to carve out roles and prove their worth during offseason workouts and training camp.
In a corresponding roster move, the Bears placed wide receiver Squirrel White on the reserve/retired list. White had signed with the team as an undrafted free agent just ahead of the minicamp, but has decided to step away from the game.
With these additions, the Bears continue to deepen their roster depth, particularly on special teams and at the wide receiver position—key areas for any team looking to compete in the tough NFC North. For fans and gear enthusiasts alike, it's an exciting time to rep your Bears pride as the team shapes its identity for the upcoming season.
