The Bears have signed four news players, plus one of their undrafted rookie retires.

The Chicago Bears made a flurry of moves on Monday, officially signing four new players while also seeing one of their undrafted rookies step away from the game. Among the newcomers, the biggest name is veteran wide receiver Scotty Miller, a Super Bowl champion who brings a wealth of experience to the Bears' receiving corps.

Miller, who spent four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won Super Bowl LV with the team, has since bounced between the Falcons and Steelers. In 2025, he caught nine passes for 62 yards in Pittsburgh. According to the Bears' official website, both Miller and linebacker Jon Rhattigan were brought in during Chicago's rookie minicamp. Rhattigan, a sixth-year veteran, has a local connection—he grew up in the Chicago area and attended Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville.

The Bears also added wide receiver Kyle Hudson as an undrafted free agent out of USC and Penn State. Hudson spent four years with the Trojans, overlapping with Bears starting quarterback Caleb Williams during the 2022-23 seasons. After redshirting in 2021 and playing at USC in 2024, he transferred to Penn State for his redshirt senior year in 2025, where he hauled in 23 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns. He ranked No. 294 among 370 qualified FBS wide receivers in PFSN's WR Impact Scoring.

Linebacker Jordan Matthews rounds out the signings, bringing a strong collegiate resume to Chicago. He had a standout 2023 season at Old Dominion with 135 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and 3.0 sacks. After a rotational role at Michigan State in 2024, he returned to the starting lineup in 2025, recording 73 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss—earning an honorable mention All-Big Ten nod. He ranked No. 162 among 395 qualified FBS linebackers in PFSN's LB Impact Scoring, though it's worth noting he was No. 42 back in 2023.

On the other side of the transaction wire, undrafted rookie wide receiver Squirrel White has been placed on the reserve/retired list, ending his NFL journey before it truly began. White signed with the Bears after the 2026 NFL Draft and had a productive college career at Tennessee, where he combined for 131 catches, 1,665 yards, and six touchdowns over three seasons. He transferred to Florida State in 2025 but managed just five catches for 52 yards in 10 games. His quick decision to retire after rookie minicamp is a surprising turn for a player who once showed promise in the SEC.

As the Bears continue to shape their roster, these moves add depth and experience—particularly at wide receiver and linebacker—while also serving as a reminder that not every undrafted rookie story has a happy ending. For fans keeping an eye on the team's evolving lineup, these signings are worth tracking as training camp approaches.
