With their first pick on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have selected Malik Muhammad, a cornerback from the Texas Longhorns at 124 overall, after a trade up with the Carolina Panthers. The Bears sent picks 129 and 144 to Carolina for 124 and 166.

Muhammad (6’, 189) has started 27 games the last two years, and he has experience in press-man coverage. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein said that “Muhammad has Day 2 talent and starter-level ability.”

We’ll stream our reaction/breakdown podcast about the selection shortly after the draft ends on our video channel, and we’ll embed it, as well as the audio version here, as soon as it publishes.
