The Chicago Bears turned heads in 2025 as a legitimate playoff contender, and now—heading into the 2026 season—the question on everyone's mind is whether they can take the next step and become a true Super Bowl threat.

The vibes are electric in the Windy City, but like any rising team, there are some big questions to answer. The offensive line remains an obvious concern, though it's more of a worrying puzzle than an exciting one. However, ESPN's Ben Solak recently highlighted a much more thrilling question surrounding two of the Bears' most promising young stars: Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III.

"It's clear that new Bears head coach Ben Johnson had a vision for these pass catchers and how he'd build an offense around them," Solak wrote. "It wasn't immediate."

Now, with the offseason trade that sent DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills, that vision is coming into sharper focus. Solak poses the exciting question: "What can Luther Burden III and Colston Loveland do with DJ Moore gone?" This isn't a cause for concern—it's a reason for fans to get hyped.

Ben Johnson and general manager Ryan Poles have made their offensive plan clear. The new-look receiving trio will feature Rome Odunze, Burden, and Loveland as the primary weapons. And given Odunze's injury struggles last season, it wouldn't be surprising to see Burden and Loveland explode into stardom in 2026.

Both rookies already flashed serious promise in 2025. Burden hauled in 47 receptions for 652 yards and two touchdowns, while Loveland posted 58 catches for 713 yards and six scores. Now, with Moore's 50 receptions, 682 yards, and six touchdowns up for grabs, these two second-year playmakers are poised for a massive leap.

The question isn't whether they can be good—it's just how good they can become.
