Bayern’s Contract Offer to Anthony Gordon Leaked Amid Newcastle Exit Speculation

Bayern Munich are stepping up their pursuit of Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, and they're not waiting for the Magpies' permission to make their move.

According to the latest reports, the German giants have already tabled a long-term contract offer to the England international ahead of the summer transfer window. Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg broke the news on Tuesday, revealing that Bayern have presented Gordon and his representatives with detailed financial terms for a potential switch to the Allianz Arena.

"Despite interest from other top clubs, FC Bayern have now presented Anthony Gordon and his camp with concrete figures," Plettenberg reported. "Gordon could sign a five-year contract at Bayern. The main issue remains an agreement with Newcastle — not with the player."

That last point is the real sticking point. While personal terms are unlikely to be a major hurdle for a player of Gordon's caliber joining a European powerhouse like Bayern, negotiating with Newcastle is a different ball game entirely. The Magpies are known for driving a hard bargain, and they're proving it again here.

Bayern have reportedly offered around £60 million for the winger, but Newcastle are holding firm on their valuation, which sits closer to £75 million–£80 million. With interest also coming from Barcelona and Arsenal, the Geordie club's negotiating position is only getting stronger. It's looking increasingly likely that someone will have to meet their asking price to secure the 23-year-old's signature.
