FC Bayern was able to grind out a win.

Bayern Munich managed to grind out a hard-fought 1-0 victory over VfL Wolfsburg, but it was far from pretty. The Bavarians traveled to the Volkswagen Arena for a match that carried massive weight for the relegation-threatened Wolves but meant little for the already-crowned Bundesliga champions. As expected, motivation was a concern early on, and it showed.

After a sluggish start, Bayern slowly found its rhythm and did just enough to secure all three points. While a dominant performance would have been ideal, the squad's primary focus remains on survival mode ahead of the DFB-Pokal final. For now, the team will gladly take the result and move on.

Head coach Vincent Kompany fielded a mixed lineup of regular starters and rotation players. On paper, the XI looked capable of producing goals, but the chemistry never fully clicked. It was good to see young Tom Bischof back in the starting lineup, and the match also offered another chance for defenders Kim Min-jae and Hiroki Itō to impress—both have been loosely linked with summer transfers.

Bischof nearly opened the scoring in the 19th minute, rattling the woodwork with a well-struck effort. It would have been a dream moment for the youngster. Nicolas Jackson had a look shortly after but sent his shot wide.

The match's biggest talking point came in the 32nd minute. Michael Olise appeared to be fouled inside the box, but the initial call was offside. After a VAR review, the decision was overturned, and Bayern was awarded a penalty. However, Harry Kane—usually so reliable from the spot—saw his effort saved, keeping the score level.

One bright spot was the performance of Kim Min-jae. The Korean center-back, who has often found himself on the outside of the rotation this season, delivered his best display in weeks. He was solid and composed in the first half before being substituted at halftime as a precaution due to a minor injury concern. With transfer rumors swirling, this showing might just give the club something to think about heading into the summer window.

In other news, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are both reportedly keeping a close eye on Manchester City's defensive star Josko Gvardiol. The Croatian international has been a standout for Pep Guardiola's side, and a summer bidding war could be on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates as the transfer season heats up.
