Bayern Munich and PSG treated the footballing world to one of the greatest Champions League games of all time.

After the opening ten minutes of play, it was clear that neither side were prepared to rest on their laurels. Both sides flaunted their attacking prowess, resulting in a nine-goal classic that will undoubtedly go down in Champions League history.

In fact, according to @iMiaSanMia, Bayern and PSG’s collective attacking effort earned a feat that hasn’t been achieved in Champions League — previously known as the European Cup — history for the last 66 years.

9 goals have been scored in a Champions League/European Cup semifinal for the first time since 1960 (Frankfurt vs Rangers)

This game was always bound to produce goals, but no one expected nine goals to be shared between Europe’s two best sides. However, no one — not even Bayern fans, who were on the losing side — is complaining. And judging by how fearless both Vincent Kompany and Luis Enrique’s sides are, the second leg at the Allianz Arena is bound to be equally as breath-taking.
