Behind a five-run third inning and a complete game two-hitter from Baylee Bridges, the Green softball program was able to score a 8-1 victory over the Ironton St. Joseph Flyers' softball program Saturday afternoon in Ironton.

Bridges herself enjoyed a big day, striking out eight batters and walking only two in a 100-pitch complete game. The cleanup hitter also went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double, an RBI and a run scored for Green in the SOC I contest.

Addy Brown (2-for-4, RBI, two runs scored), Addy Christian (1-for-3, run scored), Aliya Bradley (1-for-3, run scored), Peyton Neal (1-for-3, RBI, run scored), Jayden Neal (1-for-3, run scored) and Taylor Patten (1-for-2, run scored) rounded out the winning cause for Green, who improved to 9-8 overall and 4-4 in SOC I play with the victory.

Wheelersburg 4, Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass 1

Behind eight hits from six different players and strong pitching from both Owen Wilburn and Bransyn Russell on the bump, the Wheelersburg Pirates' baseball program was able to claim a 4-1 triumph over the Frederick Douglass Broncos' baseball program in an impressive win over a Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) Class 6A program Saturday afternoon in Prestonsburg, Ky.

Wilburn, who threw six-and-two-thirds innings with five strikeouts, allowed just one run which came in the bottom of the seventh inning. At that point, Russell came on for the save and needed just three pitches to get the contest's final strikeout and record the win for Wheelersburg in the game.

Hitting-wise, Russell (1-for-3, run scored), Cameron Conn (2-for-3, walk, run scored) and Drake Bundy (2-for-2, walk, RBI) led the Pirates at the plate, while Drew Holland (1-for-2), Andrew Tabor (1-for-4, run scored) and Tanner Scior (1-for-3) rounded out the Pirates that reached via a hit in the contest.

In a dominating effort where the Wheelersburg Pirates' baseball program posted hits in six out of its seven innings up at the plate, Derek Moore's group was able to claim an 11-2 win over the Prestonsburg Blackcats' baseball program Saturday afternoon in Prestonsburg, Ky.

Between the quartet of Cameron Conn, Drew Holland, Brady Doss and Andrew Tabor, the four players at the top of Wheelersburg's batting order went 9-for-12 with two doubles, three walks, six RBI and seven runs scored in the game. Hunter Henderson also went 1-for-1 with two RBI while Brady Music went 1-for-4 with a double in the contest as well for the Pirates.

Pitching-wise, Tanner Scior picked up the win after throwing six innings of nine-strikeout, three-hit baseball. Drew Holland worked the final inning of relief in the win for the Pirates.

In a grueling nine-inning battle, the Green Bobcats' baseball program ultimately got a ninth-inning RBI single by Gabe Blevins en route to pulling out a big SOC I road win over the Ironton St. Joseph Flyers' baseball program in nine innings Friday evening in Ironton.

Blevins toughed out a six-inning performance where the junior struck out five batters in six complete and only allowed two earned runs by driving in the game-winning run in the ninth. Blevins drove in Riddick Jenkins, who legged out an infield single and stole second base to put Blevins in a position to drive in the game-winning run.

Blevins ultimately went 1-for-4 with two RBI at the plate in addition to his work on the bump while Jenkins went 1-for-4 with a run scored in the contest.

Jon Knapp, who threw just 29 pitches in three innings of work on the bump, got the win after striking out five batters and not allowing a hit during his time on the hill. Knapp also drew three walks at the plate offensively.

Conner Blanton (2-for-4, RBI), Mason Neal (1-for-3, walk), Noah McMackin (1-for-5), Brennan Renison (1-for-3, walk, run scored) and Uriah Satterfield (1-for-3, double, run scored) each reached the hit column in the Green triumph.

Behind an offense that collected a dozen hits and had five players with multi-hit performances, the Minford Falcons' baseball program was able to claim a 10-0 triumph over the Manchester Greyhounds' baseball program Friday evening at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe.

Max Lauder, Carter Frazie, Colby Mullins, Colt Donahoe and Evan Richards combined to go 10-for-15 at the plate for the Falcons with a triple, two doubles, six RBI and six runs scored to lead Minford in the triumph.

Mason Bradley, who threw four-and-two-thirds innings of five-hit, eight-strikeout baseball, went 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk, three RBI and two runs scored while Curtis Glenn went 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored himself.

Richards needed just one pitch to record the final out of the game for the Falcons in the win.

Behind a strong start from Valley pitcher Caysen Zieber, the Valley Indians' baseball program was able to claim a 5-1 victory over the Waverly Tigers' baseball program Monday evening in Waverly.
