In a showdown that pitted an upstart underdog against one of Oklahoma's baseball powerhouses, Sequoyah's Cinderella run came to a heart-wrenching end at the Class 3A super regionals. The No. 14 Eagles were swept by the No. 3 Silo Rebels in a best-of-three series, falling 5-0 and 6-3, as the Rebels' early offensive explosions proved too much to overcome.

From the opening pitch of Game 1, Silo (31-6) made its presence felt. After a quiet first inning, the Rebels erupted in a 3-run second, with Aiden McCarty starting the scoring on a sacrifice fly. Blane Beauchamp followed with an RBI double to center, and Zane Sander added an exclamation point with his own RBI double, giving Silo a 3-0 lead. McCarty struck again in the third with another sacrifice fly, and Nolan Northcott sealed the deal with an RBI single in the sixth. The Eagles (20-18) managed just two hits in the opener—one each from Ryder Smalley and Gunner Allison—while McCarty tossed a complete-game shutout, scattering those two hits over seven innings. Smalley battled on the mound for Sequoyah, allowing four runs (three earned) over five innings.

Game 2 started with déjà vu for Sequoyah. Silo jumped ahead immediately in the first inning, with Cannon Atwood driving in the first run and Northcott blasting a 2-run double to make it 3-0. The Rebels stretched their lead to 5-0 in the second when Northcott lined a 2-run single to left, continuing a monster day at the plate. He would later add a solo home run in the fifth, finishing a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBIs.

Sequoyah finally found its footing in the fourth inning. Clayton Miller lifted a sacrifice fly to score Allison, cutting the deficit to 5-1. After Easton Hicks and Miller reached base, Wittaker Callery delivered an RBI single to left to score Miller and make it 6-2. Luke Shugart then reached on an error, allowing Hicks to score and trimming the lead to three runs. But the rally fizzled there, as Silo closed out the sweep.

The Eagles collected six hits in the finale, with Smalley, Hicks, Derick Cole, Callery, Miller, and Allison each recording one. Callery, Miller, and Shugart drove in the team's three runs. Tyson Ketchum started on the mound for Sequoyah, allowing six runs over 4 1/3 innings. Sander added two hits for the Rebels, who totaled 10 hits in the second game.

For Sequoyah, the season ends at 20-18—a testament to their grit against a Silo squad that showcased why it's one of the state's elite programs. For the Rebels, it's on to the next round, powered by early surges and a lineup that never relented.
