After a challenging 7-16 season, the Litchfield Dragons baseball team is poised for a turnaround, fueled by a deep and experienced roster. The optimism starts at the top with head coach Jeff Wollin, who enters his 38th season at the helm with a career record of 425-385.

The Dragons' foundation is built on a veteran pitching staff, a critical component for any team looking to climb the standings. The trio of seniors Jordan Abbott, Gideon Boerema, and Beau Schultz returns, bringing three years of varsity experience each. Coach Wollin highlighted their importance, stating, "The pitching staff returns four of the top five pitchers... If those veterans can improve their consistency, pitching should be a strong point."

Offensively, the lineup is packed with returning starters. Seven starters are back among ten letter-winners, providing crucial continuity. Key position players include three-year starters like center fielder Alex Medina and catcher Tripp McCann, alongside seniors Grant Dengerud and Nick Lehar. This experience has the team aiming high in a tough Wright County Conference and Section 5AA.

While they graduated All-Area talent Anthony Estrada, the Dragons believe their blend of seasoned arms and a battle-tested lineup can lead to significant improvement. With a deep coaching staff supporting them, Litchfield is focused on tightening their defense and finding offensive balance to become a top contender this spring.
