Apr. 10—ELROSA — The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa baseball team has to replace four All-Conference players from its 2025 lineup. "As a staff, we are extremely excited to see how our team develops as the year goes on," said BBE ...

The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars face a classic high school baseball challenge: reloading after graduating a core of star talent. With four All-Conference players moving on from last year's 18-8 squad, the spotlight now shifts to a promising new wave of athletes ready to prove the Jaguars remain a force in the Central Minnesota Conference and Section 6A.

Head coach Ben Klaphake, entering his third year, is brimming with optimism. "We graduated a highly successful senior class," he acknowledged, "but we are bringing in a ton of talent for the spots left behind." That confidence is rooted in a strong returning core and the program's recent success, including a share of the CMC title—a feat not achieved in over two decades—and a state 16U Babe Ruth championship.

Leading the charge is junior Aiden Mueller, a dynamic player poised for a major comeback. After missing the entire 2025 regular season with a knee injury, Mueller exploded over the summer, showcasing why Coach Klaphake calls him "one of the best all-around players in central Minnesota." As the ace and leadoff hitter for the summer state champions, he posted a staggering .490 batting average and a microscopic 0.39 ERA, demonstrating the kind of two-way talent that can anchor a lineup and a pitching rotation.

He's not alone. Sophomore Lance Radermacher, an All-Conference honorable mention as a freshman, returns with remarkable versatility, having played seven different positions and earning defensive MVP honors. His leadership is equally impressive, being voted a team captain—a first for a sophomore in the BBE program.

The Jaguars also welcome back two more key contributors: senior catcher/pitcher Cameron Loe, praised for his command behind the plate and clutch hitting, and freshman outfielder Noah DeRoo, who made an immediate impact with his bat last season. This blend of experienced leadership and youthful talent has the Jaguar coaching staff excited for the season's potential. As the team develops, their dedication in the weight room and on the field will be key to maintaining their competitive edge.
