The stage is set for an unforgettable Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Finals showdown. The underdog Barrie Colts, fresh off a dramatic Eastern Conference title run, travel to Kitchener Memorial Auditorium to face the powerhouse Western Conference champion Kitchener Rangers. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. ET, and the entire series is streaming live exclusively on FloHockey.
Barrie’s path to the finals was nothing short of a thriller. After falling behind two games in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Brantford Bulldogs, the Colts refused to quit. Overtime wins in Games 5 and 6 kept their hopes alive, setting up a decisive Game 7. They delivered in spectacular fashion, blanking the Bulldogs 5-0 to punch their ticket to the championship series.
The Colts will need to carry that momentum while brushing off a $15,000 fine handed down after head coach Dylan Smoskowitz and captain Kashawn Aitcheson famously told the media, “No one cares, work harder,” during a post-game press conference. That gritty, no-nonsense attitude has defined their playoff identity.
On the other side, the Kitchener Rangers have been a dominant force all postseason. They swept the Saginaw Spirit in the first round, dropped just one game to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the second, and then toppled a familiar Western Conference rival—the Windsor Spitfires—in the conference finals. Through it all, the Rangers have outscored opponents 60-37, led by Sam O’Reilly (TBL) who has been on fire with 14 goals and 8 assists.
Both teams have earned their shot at the J. Ross Robertson Cup. The Colts are looking to complete a Cinderella story, while the Rangers aim to cap off a dominant postseason with a championship. Stay tuned for projected lines, pregame notes, and live updates as these two clubs collide for all the marbles in the OHL.
