Barcelona took a massive step toward retaining their La Liga crown with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Osasuna on Saturday, thanks to late strikes from Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.

The win pushes the Catalan giants 14 points clear of second-placed Real Madrid, meaning they could seal the title as early as Sunday if their arch-rivals slip up against Espanyol. If Madrid win, Barcelona will have another chance to clinch the league in the upcoming Clásico on May 10—a mouthwatering prospect for any football fan.

For much of the match, it looked like Osasuna might hold firm. The first half was a cagey affair, with Barcelona dominating possession but struggling to break through a stubborn home defense. Without the injured Lamine Yamal, the visitors lacked their usual spark, and it was Osasuna who created the best chance of the half—Ante Budimir showing immense strength to shrug off two defenders before rattling the post.

Barcelona raised their tempo after the break, and the breakthrough finally came in the 81st minute when Lewandowski rose highest to head home. Torres then doubled the lead with four minutes left, slotting coolly past the goalkeeper to seemingly put the game to bed. Osasuna pulled one back through Raúl Garcia in stoppage time, but it was too little, too late.

"We've put the pressure on Madrid," Torres told DAZN after the match. "This is one of the toughest grounds in the league, where three points here are worth more than three points anywhere else."

Coach Hansi Flick praised his team's resilience, calling the victory "huge." "We wanted to win here, and it was a tough game—especially in the first half. But we did much better in the second half, and I'm really happy for the team, the club, and the fans," he said.

With the title now tantalizingly close, Barcelona's focus will shift to next week's Clásico—a match that could be the defining moment of their season. For now, though, the Blaugrana can celebrate a gritty win that puts them on the verge of a 29th league title and a second in a row.
