Barcelona's summer transfer plans are taking shape, with the club targeting three key positions despite lingering budget uncertainties. Topping their wish list is a new number nine, followed by a central defender, and—if funds allow—a left winger.

The left-wing spot has sparked plenty of debate over the past six months, especially with Marcus Rashford currently filling the role. Barcelona hold a €30 million buy option on Rashford, who has expressed a desire to stay at the club. However, the Catalans appear unlikely to trigger that clause, and Manchester United have shown little interest in negotiating a lower price. As a result, Rashford's return next season looks increasingly uncertain.

This has led Barcelona to explore more budget-friendly alternatives, including Andreas Schjelderup, Jan Virgili, and Ez Abde. According to recent reports, the Blaugrana made an enquiry about Abde just last week, testing the waters for a potential summer move.

Abde has been turning heads this season with impressive performances for Real Betis, attracting interest from Premier League clubs like Aston Villa and Newcastle United as well. The Moroccan winger is under contract until 2029, with a release clause set at €60 million, though a price tag of €25-35 million has been floated in recent discussions.

Interestingly, Barcelona sold Abde to Betis three years ago for just €7.5 million, but they cleverly retained a 50% sell-on clause. While Betis recovered 30% of that percentage through their loan of Vitor Roque, Barcelona still hold a 20% sell-on fee—effectively giving them a discount if they decide to bring him back. However, there's a catch: Abde reportedly has concerns about returning to Camp Nou, as he prioritizes a starting role—something that would be tough to guarantee with Raphinha in the squad.
