According to a recent report from The Athletic, Osasuna winger Victor Munoz could be heading back to Real Madrid this summer, with the club seriously considering activating their buy-back clause.
Munoz has been one of the standout performers for CA Osasuna this season, delivering six goals and five assists across all competitions.
Back when Munoz left Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid inserted a buyback clause when they sold him for €5 million last summer, allowing them to re-sign the player over the next three seasons.
If they choose to act now, the deal would cost around €8 million, a figure that makes the operation highly attractive given his current trajectory.
As per the outlet, Madrid prefer to give their former academy players more time before considering a return.
The idea is to allow full development away from the pressure of the Bernabeu.
However, Munoz is being viewed as an exception internally, as his progress has accelerated faster than expected, and there is a growing feeling within the club that he could already contribute at a higher level.

At the same time, Barcelona are also tracking the winger closely.
The Blaugrana see him as someone who could step into a role similar to what Marcus Rashford has offered this season, although unlike Real Madrid, they do not hold any contractual advantage.
This means any move from their side would require a significantly higher investment, with his valuation expected to reach around €40 million.
Right now, the situation is unclear, but the aforementioned outlet claims that Munoz has a ‘real chance’ of returning to Santiago Bernabeu.
However, a while decision will take a considerable amount of time mostly because Real Madrid have the attacking positions covered with serious starters.
