Barcelona may have already wrapped up the La Liga title, but their recent 1-0 loss to Deportivo Alaves has shattered several remarkable streaks that defined Hansi Flick's debut season at the helm. While the championship is secure, this defeat carries a sting that goes beyond a single result.

For the first time all season, Barcelona failed to find the back of the net in a league match. Before this setback, Flick's side had scored in every single one of their previous 35 La Liga fixtures, building a reputation for relentless, high-octane attacking football that overwhelmed opponents with creativity and intensity. That streak—stretching back into last season and covering 55 consecutive league games—has now come to an abrupt end.

The timing made it even more surprising. Alaves entered the match having conceded in 20 straight league games, making Barcelona's blank scoreline a genuine shock given the attacking firepower they've displayed all season. Across all competitions, this was only the fourth time in 55 matches that Flick's team failed to score, following earlier blank sheets against Chelsea, Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey, and Atletico again in the Champions League.

The defeat also derailed Barcelona's pursuit of the 100-point mark and put their hopes of reaching 100 league goals in jeopardy. Currently sitting on 91 goals with just two matches remaining, matching last season's impressive tally of 102 goals now looks like a tall order. Their run of 11 consecutive victories also came to a halt.

For Barcelona fans, it's a reminder that even champions can have off days—but with the title already secured, there's still time to finish the season on a high note and chase down those scoring milestones.
