Barcelona are stepping up their search for a new centre-forward ahead of next season, and a surprising name has just entered the mix: PSG's Goncalo Ramos.

With Robert Lewandowski expected to move on when his contract expires, the Catalan giants are wasting no time lining up reinforcements. Their top target remains Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid, but that deal is proving tricky to pull off. Chelsea's Joao Pedro was also on the radar, but the Blues aren't keen on letting the Brazilian go just a year after signing him.

That's where Ramos comes in. According to reports from Teamtalk (via Mundo Deportivo), Barcelona have added the Portuguese striker to their shortlist. And here's the intriguing part: Ramos is reportedly unhappy in Paris.

Signed from Benfica for €65 million in the summer of 2024 after a loan spell, the 24-year-old has found himself on the bench far too often under Luis Enrique. This season, he's managed 12 goals in 41 appearances, but he hasn't started a single Champions League match and has only been in the starting XI for 12 Ligue 1 games. It's a frustrating situation for a player who clearly has talent.

For Barcelona, that discontent could be an opportunity. Ramos has a contract until 2028 with a hefty €120 million release clause, but given his limited role, PSG might be open to letting him go for much less. The Blaugrana are now weighing whether he's a serious option to lead their attack next season.

It's a classic transfer market chess move: a talented player, stuck in a backup role, with a club that might be ready to deal. For Barcelona, finding the right fit up front could be the key to their next chapter. Keep an eye on this one.
