The Badgers are looking for their first commit in the 2027 class.

The Wisconsin Badgers are on the verge of landing their first commitment in the 2027 recruiting class, and it could be a game-changer. Top-40 prospect Donovan Davis, a high four-star forward, is set to announce his college decision this Wednesday, with the Badgers firmly in the mix.

Standing at 6'7" and 200 pounds, Davis hails from Kaukana, Wisconsin, and has been making waves in the national rankings. He's currently rated as the No. 7 power forward in the country and the No. 2 player in the state, trailing only five-star guard Dooney Johnson, who committed to Gonzaga. With his size, athleticism, and rising stock, Davis is exactly the type of cornerstone recruit that can elevate a program's future.

Last week, Wisconsin made the cut in Davis's top five, joining Iowa State, Iowa, Nebraska, and Marquette. The Badgers have been relentless in their pursuit, hosting him for an official visit on April 13th—the first of five stops on his recruiting tour. He followed that with visits to Iowa (April 15th), Marquette (April 17th), Nebraska (April 20th), and capped off with Iowa State on April 29th before setting a decision date on May 6th.

For Wisconsin, landing Davis would be a huge win. The Badgers have yet to secure a commit in the 2027 class, and adding a top-40 in-state talent would provide a strong foundation. Beyond Davis, the coaching staff is also targeting four-star guard Jalen Brown, along with three-star forwards Jack Kohnen and Kager Knueppel, and three-star guard Deuce McDuffie. But Davis stands out as a potential program-defining recruit—a player who could anchor the Badgers' frontcourt for years to come.

With his decision just days away, all eyes are on Wednesday. Will Wisconsin lock in its first 2027 commit and keep a top talent home? The answer is coming soon.
