The Tigers are heading to Athens after taking down Duke, 4-2, over the weekend at the NCAA Super Regionals.

The Auburn women's tennis team is making history, one match at a time. After a thrilling 4-2 victory over No. 15 Duke in the NCAA Super Regionals, the Tigers are packing their bags for Athens, Georgia, where they'll compete in the Elite 8 for the first time ever.

The action took place Friday at Auburn's Yarbrough Tennis Center, and it was senior Angella Okutoyi who delivered the decisive moment. After dropping the first set 5-7, Okutoyi rallied to win the second 7-5, then dominated the third set with a flawless 6-0 sweep over Duke's Live Hovde. It was a performance that showcased both grit and grace under pressure.

The Tigers set the tone early, sweeping all three doubles matches. The No. 3 duo of Ashton Bowers and Ekaterina Khairutdinova notched their 29th win of the season with a crisp 6-1 victory, while the No. 2 team of Okutoyi and Merna Refaat also posted a 6-1 win. In singles play, Khairutdinova continued her stellar spring, improving to 18-6 with a straight-sets win (6-2, 6-1) on Court 2. Ava Esposito faced a tough challenge from Duke's Eleana Yu, who pushed the second set to a tie-break, but Esposito held firm to win 6-2, 7-6.

This season has been one for the record books. The Tigers have already claimed their first SEC regular-season title and their first SEC Championship. Now, with the Elite 8 berth, they've added another milestone to an already unforgettable campaign. Regardless of what happens next, this team has cemented its place in Auburn history.
