The recruiting landscape in the SEC just shifted, and Auburn football is poised to benefit. Three-star cornerback Nash Johnson, a standout from McEachern High School in Georgia, has decommitted from rival Alabama, reopening a major opportunity for the Tigers.

Johnson's decision immediately puts Auburn back in the driver's seat for his signature, but the competition is fierce. He's now considering a quartet of top programs, with Auburn joining College Football Playoff participant Ole Miss, ACC power Miami, and SEC East foe Tennessee in the race.

The Tigers have already made a strong impression. Johnson recently visited the Plains and connected with cornerbacks coach Demarcus Van Dyke, who left a mark by breaking down the fundamentals of the position. "Coach Demarcus Van Dyke walked us through the basics of being a cornerback, and I liked that a lot," Johnson told Rivals.

Ranked as the No. 71 cornerback nationally for the 2027 class, Johnson's recruitment is heating up. While he has official visits scheduled to Miami, Tennessee, and Ole Miss in June, Auburn's established relationship and SEC pedigree make them a serious contender to secure this talented defensive back.
