Auburn football is about to get a major home-field upgrade. The university's board of trustees has given the final green light for a monumental $323 million renovation at the iconic Jordan-Hare Stadium, marking the largest capital project in the program's history.

The centerpiece of the project is a massive new multipurpose facility at the stadium's north end, carrying a $305 million price tag. An accompanying plaza space accounts for the remaining $18 million. This ambitious build is set to transform the fan experience, adding approximately 3,000 premium seats within a new seven-story structure.

But this is about more than just luxury seating. The renovation is designed to modernize the entire game-day atmosphere. Plans include expanded campus dining options, versatile event spaces, new retail venues, and enhanced areas for student activities. For fans navigating the stadium, the improvements are practical and significant: five new entry gates, 13 elevators, 66 additional concession points of sale, and 270 new restroom fixtures.

"This is a moment for Auburn University — the university, not just the athletic department," said an emotional Athletic Director John Cohen, highlighting the project's broad impact. He predicted that looking back in 20 years, this decision will be seen as a pivotal moment for the entire campus community.

Construction is scheduled to begin this summer, with a phased completion timeline. The university aims to have at least a portion of the new facilities ready for fans by the fall of 2028, with the entire project slated for final completion in the spring of 2029. This project follows the recent addition of a state-of-the-art $25.7 million video board in the same north end zone before the 2025 season, signaling Auburn's continued commitment to competing at the highest level of college football both on the field and in the stands.
