Free agent cornerback L'Jarius Sneed is no longer facing any criminal charges in Texas.

In a major legal victory for free agent cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, all criminal charges against him in Texas have been officially dropped. His attorney, Michael J. Todd, confirmed the news to ESPN, marking a significant turn in a case that has followed the defensive back since late 2024.

The legal saga began when Sneed was initially charged with aggravated assault following a December 2024 incident. According to reports, his assistant was accused of firing a gun at another man outside a car dealership. While a grand jury later reduced the charge to failure to report a felony, Sneed is now completely clear of all criminal wrongdoing.

However, the story isn't entirely closed. A civil lawsuit related to the same incident remains pending, meaning Sneed could still face legal proceedings on that front.

On the field, Sneed's recent career has been hampered by injuries. After being released by the Tennessee Titans in March, he's looking for a fresh start. Over the past two seasons, he appeared in just 12 games, managing 26 tackles in seven appearances last year. At his best, Sneed was a shutdown corner who helped the Kansas City Chiefs win Super Bowl LVII, and teams in need of secondary help will surely be watching his availability closely. For now, he can focus on getting healthy and finding his next NFL home—without the weight of criminal charges.
