The season is probably over for Atalanta wing-back Lorenzo Bernasconi, who has been ruled out for several weeks by a knee ligament injury.
The 22-year-old sustained the injury during the Coppa Italia semi-final defeat to Lazio on penalties, at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo on Wednesday.
He was diagnosed with a Grade I-II lesion to the collateral medial ligament in the right knee.
It is not clear how long he will be out for, but the likelihood is that his season has already concluded, because this kind of setback requires at least three weeks on the treatment table.

A product of their youth academy, Bernasconi made 37 competitive appearances for Atalanta this season, contributing three assists for his teammates.
Isak Hien missed the Coppa Italia semi-final through injury and is still not fully fit, so remains a major doubt for Monday evening’s Serie A trip to Cagliari.
