See how the prospects performed last night.

Another exciting day in the Astros' minor league system brought plenty of action, from power surges to rehab appearances. Here's how the prospects fared on May 5th.

Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Triple-A) got off to a promising start, with Whitcomb launching a two-run homer in the first inning to put the Space Cowboys on the board. Making a rehab start on the mound, Imai worked three innings, allowing just one run despite walking five batters. The offense kept the momentum going in the third on an Alexander RBI single, followed by an Unrow RBI single in the fourth. In relief, Josh Hader delivered a scoreless inning, showcasing his elite stuff. However, fellow rehabber Nate Pearson struggled, allowing three runs while recording only two outs. The game stretched into extra innings, where the Isotopes scored three in the top of the 10th. Biggio drove in a run with an RBI single in the bottom half, but that was all the offense could muster, as Sugar Land fell 7-5.

Asheville Tourists (High-A) jumped out early, scoring in the first on a Brutcher bases-loaded walk. Thomas extended the lead with an RBI single in the second. Starting pitcher Luis Rodriguez turned in a solid outing, allowing two runs over five innings to earn the win. The offense exploded in the fourth, scoring four runs on a Powell three-run homer and a Nunez solo shot. They added four more in the fifth on two-run singles from Frey and Brutcher. The bullpen had some hiccups, allowing seven runs, but the Tourists held on for a 10-9 victory.

Fayetteville Woodpeckers (Single-A) raced out to an early three-run lead, powered by solo home runs that set the tone for a strong offensive night.

From rehab outings to breakout performances, the Astros' farm system continues to provide plenty of highlights for fans to watch.
